Repairing a cellular at where you bought will not come cheap, but there are some troubleshooting tips that you can take to prevent the liquid from destroying vital parts of the electronics so that it is not rendered useless. If your device gets logged in liquid, remove it from the liquid immediately, dry it off externally with a dry cloth, and begin to take it apart as best you can.

The battery pack is the first thing that one should separate from the unit, along with the sim card. After this is done, separate these parts and fill a container with alcohol and soak the rest of the unit in the alcohol to displace unwanted liquids for three minutes. Displacing the liquids is important because you don't want these liquids corroding the metal parts of your phone.

There are situations when a person will drop their unit in coffee or juice, which is very sticky and thick. To prevent stickiness in the unit, it is best to soak the device in distilled water for a few minutes to get rid of the stickiness. Once this is gone, then the unit can be soaked in alcohol to displace the water and prevent corrosion.

After three minutes of soaking, remove the device from the alcohol and place it on a dry highly absorbent cloth to dry. You can help it along by drying off parts of it with earbuds. It should take about two hours to dry completely. Shake the device once in a while to dislodge any alcohol that is stuck in hard to reach places.

Using a hair dryer at its cool setting will help you dry your cellular device faster. It is best to use a cool setting so that plastic parts inside the unit do not melt. Once you are sure the entire unit is dry, reinstall the battery and sim card and test the unit.

When your unit becomes waterlogged, this is one of the most tried and tested ways that have proven to be successful when learning how to fix a phone with water damage. But if this procedure is not successful, then you may have to bring it to a repair shop to be looked at by a professional technician.
